About the Event

What is GEMA?

GEMA, short for Gelora Mahasiswa, is an annual event organized by the Indonesian Student Association in the UK and Ireland (MGBI) to foster personal development and networking opportunities for students in the region.

GEMA aims to provide relevant knowledge to students and LPDP scholarship recipients, equipping them to face global challenges and contribute positively to Indonesia's future.

This year, GEMA invites scholars, practitioners, and the diaspora community to reflect on Indonesia's 2045 Long-Term Vision, examining how the nation can stay resilient and forward-looking amid climate change and global disruption. Beyond the discussions, GEMA celebrates the richness of Indonesian culture and showcases the brightest young researchers through the 3 Minute Thesis Grand Final.
